IT wasn’t the best day ever for Ryan Christie in a Celtic jersey as the midfielder did his team no favours getting sent off in the first half against Livingston on Sunday.

It was an uncharacteristic lunge by the Celtic star which resulted in him being rightfully sent off by Willie Collum.

Celtic went on to lose the game 2-0 with Celtic along with Christie playing into the home side’s game plan by letting the game turn into a scrap rather than a football game.

Christie is taking some heat for his challenge and it appears the player has deactivated his Twitter account after the day’s events.

Twitter is a harsh and unforgiving place for anybody at the best of times and the player might have had more than a few unsavoury messages after the game which has resulted in him shutting the account down for the time being.

We hope the wee man gets his head back up. We all make mistakes and he should not let his fantastic start to the season stop because of this incident.
