KRISTOFFER AJER has sensationally ditched his agent this summer after deciding not to renew his current deal with Tore Pedersen. The agent controversially spoke out in March just before a Glasgow Derby saying his client wanted to leave Celtic in the summer.

Ajer has kept quiet on the transfer front since football shutdown and has kept his cards close to his chest.

Dropping his agent who has been with him since the beginning of his career and facilitating his move to Celtic is a big deal.

Pederson told SunSport.

“My contract with Kris expired this May.

“Why wasn’t it renewed? Kris must answer about his choice, if he wants to.

“Did I want to renew? Yes of course. Kris is a brilliant guy, and a very good central defender.

“I have followed his career since he was 15 years old. I wish him all the best in the future.”

What does this mean for Celtic?

It could be taken two ways. The agent who was touting him around Europe is now out of the picture and it may have been done by Ajer because he wasn’t happy with the way Pederson dealt with scenario back in March.

The other side of the coin could mean he’s ready to link up with another agent who is set to work his ticket out of Celtic Park. Agents will be pitching to the player on a regular basis and they’ll be touting they can get him a big-money move.

It’s up to Ajer whether he sees value in sticking around another year or wants to chase his monetary ambitions.

Celtic will be keeping an eye on things closely but they might be willing to let the defender go if a big bid comes in for his services.

There have been so many rumours surrounding the defender lately, with AC Milan linked with a move according to the aforementioned SunSport report.
