With domestic football about to pause due to the World Cup beginning later this month, many Celtic fans attention is already swaying towards the January transfer window.

The reigning Scottish champions currently sit seven points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership with another important victory at the weekend having left it late to dispatch Dundee United 4-2 with goals from Kyogo and Liel Abada in the dying moments of the match.

Celtic are currently 10 points better off this season than last after 13 games which once again shows an incredible level of consistency within the side.

The squad has been rotated on a game per game basis and looks to be improving with each passing week.

Ange Postecoglou stated at the Celtic AGM last week that there would be movement in the January window which could also mean some starts get moved on which he believes is imperative to progressing the team.

That feeling is also shared by Celtic defender Anthony Ralston who believes that Postecoglou’s ambitious plans will step it up a level even further at the club that will help the players produce their “A games”.

Further additions keeps players motivated which is something Ralston believes players thrive on.

“When you are a club of this stature, you are always having to have your A game because there is always going to be someone else coming in, another person wanting to take your position,”  said Anthony Ralston as quoted by The Herald.

“That’s part and parcel of not just here, but all football.

“You always want to be at the top of your game anyway. You don’t want any reason to drop your game off. So, yes, it’s extra motivation for everyone involved to stay in and that is the way it works.”

The 23-year old is contracted to the club for another three years and is very much likely to be part of the plans going forward.
