Kyogo Furuhashi has really hit the ground running since joining the club from Japan in the summer under Ange Postecoglou.

He has quickly become a fans favourite with his goal-scoring ability, clever play and infectious personality – which is clear to see for all.

The Japanese international has, quite rightly, received a lot of praise for his time so far at Parkhead. However, Kyogo isn’t quick to forget those around him in the side when it comes to being a success with the club.

Speaking in an interview, whilst away on international duty, the striker was full of praise for his Hoops teammates as he talked up his early time at Celtic Park.

“At Celtic, I have been playing as a striker, and I am really enjoying it and I am scoring a lot of goals,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“But I have to give the credit to my teammates at Celtic because they create so many chances for me. I have developed a really good understanding with them, and I know when they are going to pass to me.

“I feel comfortable, and we are getting results. I think I’m in a position where I can show my characteristics and strengths. I am playing with confidence at the moment.

“Celtic give me a lot of freedom, and they put a lot of trust in me. I don’t want to betray the trust they have given me. I play with a smile on my face there.

“I am obviously scored many more goals for Celtic than I have for Japan. I think you can explain that because I am usually playing in a different position for the national team.

“I know I need to score more goals for Japan, though, and it would be nice to start against Oman this week.”

Although Kyogo doesn’t speak much English yet, it is clear to see he is a significant character within this squad, with the majority of his talking coming on the pitch.

As time goes on, we are starting to see this squad gel, and that togetherness is evident on the pitch in the reaction to incidents or celebrating goals/victories.

We are still in the early days of the Ange Postecoglou era, and there is still so much improving to come under the former Socceroos boss.

Long may it continue as we look to put another good spell of form together headed into the festive period.
