KRISTOFFER AJER has given Celtic fans an update from his hospital bed after surgery to repair his broken eye socket.

The Norweigan international took a nasty knock to the face during Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Livingston at the weekend.

However, the big man has declared surgery has gone well and even joked from his hospital bed that he now looks like a proper defender with the battle scars to prove it.

Ajer originally came to Celtic as a midfielder but Brendan Rodgers has trained him up as a towering defender, a role he has adapted to very well.

There is no word yet how long the Celtic star will be out for but with successful surgery, it will certainly quicken the process.

Celtic have 11 games packed into a massive end of November through to December and it remains to be seen if Ajer will play any part in their hectic festive schedule.

It will be all hands on deck as Celtic look to solidify their place at the top of the SPFL, win the League Cup and try to make progress in Europe.
