Celtic’s Matt O’Riley is attracting attention from top-tier clubs in the Premier League and the German Bundesliga, sparking speculation about a potential transfer this summer.

While no concrete offers have been made yet, it’s understood that Brighton, among others, is closely monitoring the 22-year-old Danish midfielder.

There’s also been talk of O’Riley reuniting with former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur. However, a move to Spurs may not be as straightforward as it seems.

When O’Riley transferred from MK Dons to Celtic in January 2022, he was represented by CAA Base, the same agency that represents Postecoglou. Frank Trimboli, the head of football at CAA Base, was instrumental in securing Postecoglou’s position at Spurs.

However, Football Scotland has reported that O’Riley has since parted ways with CAA Base, with his family now overseeing his career, in what is an unusual move nowadays.

While this doesn’t necessarily rule out a move to Spurs, it could alter the dynamics of any potential transfer, should Ange Postecoglou come calling.
