There was excitement among the Celtic support when Albian Ajeti signed for the club. It was a big surprise when it turned out not to be a loan deal but instead a permanent move for the striker.

While the Celtic fans were celebrating the signing, it was the usual suspects from the media trying to quell the enthusiasm by making unfounded claims.

Charlie Adam was given the time and space in the media to let us know Albian Ajeti was not up to scratch like some said he was and that he would struggle in a Celtic jersey in the beginning – the Glasgow Times publishing his comments claiming Albian wasn’t at the level people thought he was.

The striker unfortunately when down with an injury on Sunday, but not before he scored his 5th goal in 6 SPFL appearances. The player has scored those goals in 237 minutes of open play. Quite simply making a mockery of the notion Ajeti wasn’t up to the task.

Albian gives us a different dimension and sniffs out goals in the penalty area. The only thing which will stop him scoring in the next few weeks is injury.
