JOZO SIMUNOVIC has told Celtic fans the players are currently rooting for Neil Lennon to get the job on a full-time basis after helping the Irishman get to the Scottish Cup final with a top defensive display.

Lennon put his faith in Jozo from the start even though Filip Benkovic was available for selection and the Croatian didn’t disappoint. He looked like the Jozo of old and even looked more menacing going forward when Aberdeen continued to back off the player.

Jozo constantly terrorised the Aberdeen front men and given the opportunity created space by drawing more players in.

The Croatian and Kristoffer Ajer made a great partnership on the day and eased Celtic fans concerns they had after Boyata went down injured against The Rangers at the end of March.

Asked how things were going under the interim boss, Jozo seemed happy and believes his teammates were too!

“Things are going really well. It is all good. It’s not just me, I think the other players want it to happen too.” Jozo told SunSport.

“But there are some things the players can’t decide, that is for others. But I would say all players are happy at the moment with the coaching staff.”
