Stephen Welsh has been named in the SPFL team of the week after he bagged the opening goal against Aberdeen at the weekend.

It’s nothing less than the player deserved. After speculation regarding his future at the club led to fans believing he wasn’t good enough to play his part this season, he’s silenced them with his Sunday performance.

He’s a player who needs a run of games to show his worth and struggles to show off his talent when he’s thrown in for the odd game.

Many players from the Celtic squad could’ve been included, but there is a limit to one player per club in the team.

Celtic’s Real Man of the Match

Despite Jota being announced as man of the match, many felt that Stephen Welsh was deserving of the award.

Jota’s goal was superb and will likely be the goal of the season, but Stephen’s all-around performance was incredible. However, he gets his reward in the SPFL team of the week.
