Despite the French senior side currently playing in Euro 2020, they have managed to name a side filled with some familiar names such as Eduardo Camavinga and Florian Thauvin who are well regarded across the globe, plying their trade in Ligue 1 last season.
Edouard has been a key player for the French under-21s side in the last few years, featuring for them this summer as they had an early exit in the European Championships.
Now, with him missing out on a place, he will return earlier than expected to the club.
Of course, there is still a lot of speculation surrounding his future, and it remains highly likely he will depart as he enters the final year of his contract.
As confirmed by Ange Postecoglou, though, Edouard is still to hold talks with the new manager around what his next move might be.
