ANGE POSTECOGLOU doesn’t know when Jullien will make his long-awaited return to football. The defender missed the whole of 2021 due to an injury he sustained in the last match of the previous year.

Since the turn of the year, the defender has been back in training and has been included in some squads.

However, Jullien’s name has not appeared on the bench for the last two games. After some worry that an injury had hit the defender again, Postecoglou confirmed that the Frenchman was still in training. [Celtic TV]

‘Don’t know. Depends how the game’s going, depends on the opportunities.

‘I’ve said all along, he’s training, he’s fine from injuries, there’s no issues. It’s just a matter of waiting for his opportunity now, when that will come I don’t know.

‘It will depend on how the team is going and when we need to give him that opportunity but he’s doing everything right in terms of training and he’s available for selection.

The defence is pretty solid now, which is why Chris isn’t being hurried back into the starting XI. After 14 months of not playing, it will take a long time for him to get back up to scratch.

Postecoglou will be taking it on day by day basis, judging Chris’ recovery alongside some experts.

With a home tie against Raith Rovers coming up, Postecoglou may use the defender in the match.
