Celtic right-back Tony Ralston has been named as part of the WhoScored.com Europa League team of the group stage for his performances in Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Not many supporters would have expected to see the 22-year old lining up in a European group stage match at the start of the year, never mind becoming a key component of Postecoglou’s team.

However, he has done exactly that and earned himself a place in the team alongside the likes of Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen and Declan Rice of West Ham.

Ralston has continued to show improvements in his performances week in, week out, which has seen him score four goals and set up five in 27 appearances from the full-back position.

One of which came in European competition, scoring a consolation goal in the Hoops 4-3 defeat to Real Betis on matchday one.

For now, the academy graduates focus will be on returning to the side after sustaining an injury in last weeks 1-0 win over Hearts in the league.

Fingers crossed, we can continue to see the improvements he has made to his game when Ralston returns to action.
