There was only one Celtic player in the Scotland setup in the initial call-up sheet last week. Steve Clarke had chosen to call-up Celtic captain Callum McGregor.

Greg Taylor was deemed not fit enough to be called up, but David Turnbull and Anthony Ralston were overlooked.

However, today, Anthony Ralston has got the nod after Jack Hendry was withdrawn from the national setup.

Anthony suffered an injury just after the World Cup break when he could have had an extended run in the team as Juranovic got set to leave and Alistair Johnston was settling in. Due to the right-back’s injury, Alistair Johnston got a clear run at right back and has firmly established himself as the number one in the position.

Anthony played his first game since January against Hearts earlier in March. You could see the player was a bit rusty.

Ralston will now join up with the Scotland team and could get some minutes over the next ten days which could be good for the player and Celtic.
