Celtic’s Adam Montgomery has been seen back in training this Tuesday, a positive sign for the young defender following a challenging season marred by injuries.

The 21-year-old left-back, who spent the early part of the season on loan at Fleetwood Town, faced setbacks due to injury issues which continued after his return to Celtic in January and subsequent loan to Motherwell.
Montgomery’s time at Motherwell was notably short-lived, as he managed to make just one appearance for the Steelmen before a hamstring injury prematurely ended his campaign. Despite this, he made a significant impact in that sole appearance, contributing an assist from his position at left-back.
In a vote of confidence from the club amid his recovery, last week Montgomery secured his future at Celtic by signing a one-year contract extension. His new deal extends his stay at the club until the summer of 2027.
He’ll be looking to show Brendan Rodgers what he’s got in pre-season before the manager makes a decision on his future.
