Across this summer, speculation over Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard’s future has rumbled on with the Frenchman remaining with the club.

However, the race to secure the 24-year olds services appears to be hotting up as we approach the final few days of the transfer window.

Yesterday, clubs such as Bordeaux, Rubin Kazan, and Everton reportedly took an interest in Edouard.

As reported by journalist Alan Nixon, Everton’s fellow English Premier League side Crystal Palace have now entered the race and submitted an offer in the region of £15 million for the striker.

This opens up the possibility of Celtic playing the transfer market and sparking a bidding war for Edouard before the window shuts on Tuesday evening.

Many fans were beginning to expect that the Frenchman would be remaining at Parkhead and were encouraged to see his performance off the bench away in Holland on Thursday.

Ange Postecoglou would likely want Edouard in his squad for Sunday’s crucial fixture against Rangers. From there, though, it will be interesting to see where Edouard’s future lies in the final few days of the summer window.

  1. Celtic managed to cadge Moussa Dembele from Fullofham for buttons, and sold him for a few Bob (with sell ons.) This time it’s about to happen in reverse (with Psg getting a big chunk) They could all wait until he doesn’t want to sign a contract extention and has about eight to six months left to run.

And start talking to his agent (or Mr Edd himself) and Psg. And do some loan to buy from Psg and his Celtic foster (‘sic) parents. Don’t hold your breath though. He will still be bumming around Bobby Lennoxtown and Paradise until then. ? ?
