NEIL LENNON has given the green light to Craig Gordon to play tonight against Partick Thistle in the League Cup but he might not be the only one getting a run out against the Championship side.

The Celtic manager doesn’t want to make wholesale changes but he believes there are players desperate to show what they can do in a competitive environment and it will allow him to rest some of his squad.

One man who looks likely to benefit from players being rested is Bayo. The player came in and done very well against Hearts on his full debut. Since then it has been back to the bench for the Ivory Coast under 23. The striker looks posed to get his second start for the club and if it’s as impactful as his first one then Partick Thistle don’t stand a chance.

The frontman is a handful and a very different player for Odsonne Edouard. He could really give the Partick defenders a run around if he can get going quickly.

Neil Lennon also confirmed other fringe stars were in his thinking. The manager must be careful as too many changes with a side not used to playing with each other could make for a frustrating night.

“The likes of Vakoun Bayo will come in. Tom Rogic, Lewis Morgan and Jonny Hayes will also come into our thinking.” Lennon confirmed to RecordSport.
