CELTIC will be able to call on another defender this weekend if they so wish after Nir Bitton was spotted in first team training.

The player has been out injured since the international break but he hasn’t played for Celtic since the end of January.

While it’s good news we have some extra reinforcements, John Kennedy must resist the urge to play Nir in front of Stephen Welsh. Something Neil Lennon was doing before he resigned as Celtic boss.

Bitton is a back up at best for the centre back position. A guy you can put in at home against Livingston if you really want but someone you don’t take to Ibrox as proven by his last visit there.

Celtic need to put out a strong team against Livingston to ensure they have a rhythm going into the Scottish Cup Glasgow Derby.

The Hoops will have a point to prove when they head over to the other side of Glasgow next week. Let’s hope they can get their act together once this season.
