Celtic attacking midfielder, Ryan Christie is reportedly attracting interest from English Premier League side, Burnley

According to the Daily Record, Burnley boss Sean Dyche has been a long-time admirer of the 25-year old and is set to place a big-money offer, as we come closer to the end of the transfer window.

Currently, Christie has two-years left on his contract. In the past his father, Charlie Christie has spoken of his son wanting to play in the Premier League one day.

In the past two seasons, Christie has been a favourite of manager Neil Lennon’s and the Northern Irishman has expressed his desire of not losing any key men in this transfer window, so it will be interesting to see what will happen if the EPL side were to place a bid on the midfielder.

Burnley have never been a side to ’splash the cash’ so it would surprise me a little if they were to put in an offer high enough to tempt the Hoops. You may also question the ambition of the Scottish international midfielder if he was to move to Burnley as I feel he could make it at a high level.

We definitely shouldn’t be looking to lose a player of Ryan Christie’s ability, with how important a season it is for the club. At the end of the day though, every player has their value and if the correct offer comes in the club may look to sell.

  1. To whether Ryan moves this window or not. Bad injuries apart, he will be followed. If he goes, good luck to him, as he is indeed an asset to whoever owns him, this early in his playing career.
