JONNY HAYES played through the pain against Livingston on Saturday, hurting his shoulder early on in the game and staying on to just after the second half.

The Irishman has been enjoying his best run of games at Celtic since joining the club and was in no mood to come off after he initially picked up the injury.

He was replaced by Greg Taylor eventually who had a good game when he came on.

Speaking after the game, Neil Lennon gave RecordSport an update on how Jonny was doing:

“(Hayes) landed on his shoulder really awkwardly very early and it looks like he’s popped it a little bit. We’ll have to scan it and see what the diagnosis is, hopefully he won’t be out for too long.”

If he has dislocated his shoulder to any extent, the player will need to rest for a few weeks.

It can take up to three months for a shoulder problem to be fully healed and it’s recommended you don’t play physical sports during the recovery process.

As the Celtic manager said himself, a scan will see the damage done and what kind of time Jonny is looking at. It would be a minor miracle if the player makes the Rennes game.
