DAVID TURNBULL is in the running for Scottish Football Writer’s Young Player of the Year award as the season gets set to come to an end.

Celtic have had a miserable season but David has been a shining light in what’s been a dark period for the club.

The midfielder couldn’t break into the team until December, which seems criminal, but when he did, David quickly established himself as a starter.

Given he’s played well in a Celtic side that hasn’t performed at all, it bodes well for the future.

The midfielder is up against Lewis Ferguson, Nathan Paterson and Josh Doig for the award.

Personally accolades will mean very little at this point for any Celtic player.

The team have been a busted flush this season and it’s all about preparing for next season and hoping they can turn things around.

David could and should be a part of that rebuild. Given the right coaching, this bhoy can hit another level.
