JAMES MCFADDEN has called out David Turnbull for ‘excessive force’ during the Aberdeen game on Wednesday.

The former Scotland international says he’s not buying into David isn’t that type of player and believes the midfielder losing his composure sums up Celtic’s season.

Turnbull appeared to sweep the leg of former Celtic player Dylan McGeough.

“I think it has to be excessive force and I think David does go to have a kick and then kind of sweeps Dylan McGeouch.” McFadden told SunSport.

“He has taken a huge risk and I don’t buy into this ‘he’s not that type of player’ but I think it sums up Celtic that the most composed player in that team loses his composure in something that’s totally uncharacteristic.

“But I think you’re running a huge risk by doing that right in front of the referee.”

David is one of the calmer players on the park and I don’t think there’s any malice in it.

Celtic were enduring another one of their chronic games where they lose a goal from a set-piece then squander chance after chance.

We got a goal, in the end, to make it a draw but it was far from ideal for John Kennedy who seems to be continuing Neil Lennon’s programme rather than changing the channel.

Up next for the Hoops is another trip to Ibrox and fans can’t see anything past another defeat. The Bhoys have shown us nothing and John Kennedy has shown he doesn’t want to play fringe players.

  1. Dry your eyes McFandan. There wasn’t much in it and Dylan was up and running about straight after. Get a life.
