In the early stages of this campaign, Ange Postecoglou has been hit with many injury issues, which have seen his options affected.

Slowly, but surely in the last few weeks, we have started to see more players return and find themselves back in contention. Having more players back and available for selection appears to have helped Ange’s squad.

However, one player who has remained out is winger – James Forrest.

At one stage, his injury progress was said to be around ‘7-10 days away’ from being back in first-team action. But it was confirmed by Clyde One journalist Alison Conroy that Forrest wouldn’t be available for this weekend’s game once again.

It will be a frustrating time for Forrest, having missed pretty much the whole of last season through injury.

It also leaves Postecoglou without another quality attacking option – thankfully, at this point, we have plenty of those at this stage.

We hope to see the 30-year old make a swift return soon. But it may be a challenging task for him to break into the side ahead of the likes of Jota and Liel Abada by the time he gets to full fitness.
