The speculation surrounding Liel Abada has ramped up this week as his contract talks with Celtic have been put under the spotlight.

Away from that noise, the player himself suffered an injury scare at Israel’s training camp on Monday.

Stephen McGowan who has been speculating on the Celtic player’s future has today wrote on Mail Plus:

‘Abada sparked an injury scare on Monday when a hamstring muscle problem saw him limp out of training with Israel ahead of their Euro 2024 qualifiers. With the player now a doubt for the qualifying double header against Kosovo and Switzerland, he could return to Glasgow where discussions over a new contract have reached stalemate.’

If Liel is showing any signs of a long term injury, the best thing to do is for him to head back to Glasgow.

Talks over his future didn’t start this week and the winger has been playing well when called upon despite talks with the club hitting a stalemate.

I have no problem with Abada playing his part in the rest of the season and that he will give 100% while at the club.

We need all or players fit for the final push this season and not having the option of Abada would be a blow for Celtic.

We’re still waiting to hear the outcome of Reo Hatate’s injury after he went off early during the Hibernian game on Saturday afternoon. The player also looked to have done something to his hamstring.

Hatate’s absence would cause more problems than nearly anyone in the squad. The Japanese midfielder has been instrumental this season.

Abada has been a super sub for most of this term. With Three Glasgow derbies still to come and the player’s fondness of scoring against our rivals, let’s hope it’s nothing serious.
