PATRICK ROBERTS cut a dejected figure on the Celtic bench at Hampden when he realised he wouldn’t be getting one final appearance before heading back to Manchester City.
The Englishman has struggles with injuries this season and been kept out of the side thanks to James Forrest’s incredible form.
The midfielder looked like he got over the disappointment after the final whistle when he celebrated the double treble with the rest of his teammates.
He applauded the fans as they cried out his name as the team made their way around Hampden.
Tonight he said thank you to the fans and farewell.
An unforgettable 2 and a half years spent at a very special club. The love and support you have shown me will stay with me forever, you have treated me like one of your own and for that I’m truly grateful!
It’s been an absolute honour to wear the shirt!
Thank you @CelticFC?? pic.twitter.com/rnwEXJ3v1S— Patrick Roberts (@patrick7roberts) May 19, 2018
All the best in your future endevours Paddy Bhoy ???
I find your description of Forrest’s “incredible” year keeping Roberts out somewhat surprising. Forrest has been better this season but still a passenger and he will never be the player Roberts is. Yesterday he contributed nothing and that’s not a rare occurrence.
If Brendan thinks that we will do anything in Europe with Forest and Sinclair on the parked we can prepare ourselves for more thrashings.
