FIFA 23 is hitting the shelves on the 27th of September, with player ratings already released for the game.

Celtic has become an official EA partner for this year’s edition, which has excited many fans ahead of its release.

Players are given a rating out of 100 for their abilities, like pace, shooting, passing, dribbling, defending and physicality. They’re also given an overall rating out of 100, with very few players making it over the 90 mark.

Here are Celtic’s player ratings for this year’s edition of the game.

Gold Cards

Callum McGregor – 77

Jota – 76

Joe Hart – 76

Aaron Mooy – 76

David Turnbull – 75

Kyogo – 75

Juranovic  – 75

Overall, it’s what was expected. Callum McGregor is the highest-rated Celtic player, the second highest in the division. Kyogo gets his much-deserved upgrade, along with Juranovic. It’s surprising to see Joe Hart with a significant jump in his overall rating, but it’s a fair reflection.

Silver Cards

Cameron Carter-Vickers – 74

James Forrest – 73

Carl Starfelt – 73

Giorgos Giakoumakis – 73

Liel Abada – 73

Greg Taylor – 72

Daizen Maeda – 72

Reo Hatate – 72

Anthony Ralston – 71

Matt O’Riley – 71

Alexandro Bernabei – 70

Ben Siegrist – 69

Stephen Welsh – 69

James Mccarthy – 67

Scott Bain – 67

Yosuke Ideguchi – 67

Moritz Jenz – 67

A lot of the players here can feel hard done by. Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Giakoumakis, Abada, Taylor and Hatate should all be gold cards. But, the biggest mistake is Matt O’Riley; he should be one of the highest rated amongst the team; I don’t know what EA was watching last season, to be honest.

Ralston gets a big upgrade and is now a silver card and is probably rightly rated.

Paciest – Maeda – 91

Best Shooter – Kyogo – 75

Best Passer – Moy – 78

Best dribbler – Jota – 79

Best defender – Carter-Vickers – 74
