Celtic are set to intensify their scouting efforts as they prepare to watch Charles Pickel during Cremonese’s Serie A promotion play-offs, according to Football Scotland.

The midfielder, who has caught the attention of Celtic’s recruitment team, could be a summer addition to Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
Previously, in April, it was revealed that Pickel had been offered to the Hoops, identifying him as a potential fit for their midfield requirements.
The Swiss-born DR Congo international has been pivotal for Cremonese, who finished fourth in Serie B this season and are now in contention for promotion to Italy’s top flight.
They face Venezia in a two-legged playoff, with the first match at home followed by the away leg on Sunday night.
Celtic scouts will be present at these matches to assess Pickel’s capabilities and fit within Rodgers’ setup.
His versatility is a significant asset; while he primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, Pickel is also capable of adapting to roles such as right-back or a more advanced midfield position.
The interest in Pickel isn’t limited to Celtic, as notable English Championship clubs Leeds United and Preston have also shown interest. However, it has been reported that Pickel’s preferred move would be to the Scottish champions.
