Celtic midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi is likely to leave the club during this January window sources have told CeltsAreHere.

The 26-year-old is expected to leave the club on an initial loan deal back to Japan with a view to buy.

Since arriving in Glasgow last January, the move just hasn’t worked out for the former Leeds United midfielder.

He sustained a brutal ankle injury just weeks into his Celtic career during an away clash against Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Cup and he just hasn’t recovered.

Ideguchi did return to action for Ange Postecoglou’s side in May but since then, hasn’t been a part of the squad.

The first indication that he had fallen out the picture at the Scottish champions was after the Hoops moved for Rubin Kazan midfielder Oliver Abildgaard on transfer deadline day during the summer.

It’s not worked out for the Danish player either which has led Celtic back to the J-League to complete the signing of Tomoki Iwata who Postecoglou had initially signed at Yokohama F Marinos.

The 25-year-old came off the bench at the weekend in Celtic’s 5-0 win over Greenock Morton to make his debut and the manager expects him to make an impact during the rest of this season.
