CELTIC FANS were resigned to losing Dedryck Boyata either in January in the summer but Brendan Rodgers recently revealed the player leaving wasn’t a foregone conclusion.

Add to the fact Celtic have just secured another two players on long term deals in Olivier Ntcham and Ryan Christie, there’s renewed hope a deal could be struck to keep the Belgium international at Celtic.

Speaking about Boyata’s contract situation earlier this month Rodgers was candid but hopeful:

“There is always a possibility, but we just have to see,” Rodgers told SunSport. “It is between him and the club.”

“What is good is that he is focused and playing well. His development in the last couple of years has been fantastic.”

Celtic are also looking to tie up Scott Brown on a new deal, it was back in September the Celtic Captain said a deal was close but he was not sweating the timeframe of him signing and it’s turned out it’s taking just a little longer than usual. It could be because both parties are so relaxed.

Rodgers has been on a mission to keep the spine of his team and making sure if any of his players do go then large fees will have to be paid out by clubs for them.

If Boyata does re-sign it will give credence to the Celtic fan ‘conspiracy’ that had Boyata and Christie’s shirts behind Ntcham as the Frenchman signed his new deal.

  1. Bring it ask Boyata if he is going sign or not so we can bring in another two CHs and a new RB and a midfielder and a CF lets get this done before January window for the CHs at the very least, the other two January so lets get up to speed and bring them in in now…
Plus get the dead wood players out of there what we do not sell then send them home or pay them off…….lets not have another window like last one…

    • There are around six dead wood players and a two or three that are not going get a game any time soon there is nine players we could put up for sale or send home or pay off, then give BR 30 million to bring in three or four seasoned pros and lets go for Ten then after Ten we give him some more money to go beyond Ten lets send this message out and show them we are BOSS…..

Its as simple as this if you want your club to grow and make money then you spend money on players when needed you must be the number one club in your country if you want take the biggest slice of the cake every one wants to deal with the winner the number one runner up is no good.
Invest the money in BR this January and Ten and beyond is ours lets do this Celtic show them we are BOSS
