WE were wondering where Vakoun Bayo had got to in recent times. His loan deal at Toulouse has ended and despite the French club admitting they’d like to keep a hold of the Celtic striker, nothing has been agreed by either club.

This meant Bayo would have been due back in Glasgow last week to start training with Celtic ahead of the new season – but he didn’t appear.

We now have a good idea why!

The striker has been chosen to represent his country at this years Olympics which means he’ll not be available to Celtic until August time if Ange Postecoglou wants to run the rule over the player.

Bayo has not made the grade at Celtic to date. The player was brought in during Brendan Rodgers time in charge but hasn’t done much to suggest he can make it in Glasgow.

Given his Olympic commitment, it wouldn’t surprise me if Celtic do try and move the frontman on in the coming weeks.

The Olympics runs from the 23rd July to the 8th of August.
