Celtic striker Albian Ajeti has set his sights on a return to the goals for the Hoops, ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Hibernian this weekend.

Speaking to the Celtic View, the Swiss striker who joined the club in the summer, scored his last goal for Neil Lennon’s side against the Edinburgh side in a 3-0 win back in September. in the same game he picked up a hamstring injury, which saw him miss several weeks of action. So after building up his fitness and putting in a few impressive performances he is looking to getting back to what he does best.

“The players in the team know me better now and they know I’m very hungry and very ambitious to score more, assist more and work more. It’s what I love to do, it’s my passion.

“We played well in the last match against Hibernian and we’ll be confident of putting on a good performance again. The only thing is, I want to play for longer than 30 minutes and not get injured.

“We need to win this game and build on the performance we had before the international break against Motherwell. We need to focus on the high pressure, the runs and the intensity. We’ll be well prepared for that game and we’ll go three to get the three points.”

So far, in his short time as a Celtic player, Ajeti has shown in spells how impressive a player he can be.

Before picking up the hamstring injury, he was on a fine run of goalscoring form and you wouldn’t put it past him to go on a similar run again, with the ability he possesses as a number nine.

Once he gets one, there will be no stopping him. That goal has been coming in recent weeks, so with the 22-year old having the chance to build up his fitness over the international break, hopefully, that comes soon.
