CELTIC signed Johnny Kenny in the January window last season, but he failed to make an impact in the first team.
In the search for some regular first-team minutes, he departed Celtic in the summer and joined Queen’s Park. However, he only made two starts for the club.
The 19-year-old will now join Irish side Shamrock Rovers on loan for the season. He’s hoping he can “jump start” his career again, and find the goalscoring form he was in when he was with Sligo Rover before he crossed the sea to Celtic.

He joins the side on a season-long loan for the 2023 season.
Speaking to SRTV, the Irishman said:
“I couldn’t wait to get here, once I’d spoken with the manager.
“There were a few clubs sniffing about.
“Once I talked to Stephen (Bradley) and his ambition for the club and what they’ve done in the past few years – winning leagues and group stage (of Europe) – you want to play at the highest level and that is why I wanted to come here and get a smile on my face.
“At the moment I feel I need a jump start to get back to what I was at Sligo. I can’t wait to play in Tallaght in a big stadium and a good pitch.
“The fans are always good when I’ve been there before so I can’t wait to play in front of a packed house.”
He couldn’t get into the senior squad, despite injuries in the forward areas last season at Celtic. However, he had his own injury problems as well as having to follow the isolation protocol after being identified as a close contact with someone with the virus.
