Out of Contract Celtic youth star Denny Johnstone has been on trial with Birmingham City for the past few days with a view to moving down south.
Denny has impressed during his time at Celtic but he seems to have slipped through the cracks at Parkhead and is now looking to continue his career elsewhere.
Birmingham City boss Lee Clark was alerted to Denny Johnstone’s availability by former Celtic player and coach Alan Thompson who is now a developmental coach for the English side.
Celtic could be due some compensation by any club who chooses to take Denny on and this was sighted as the reason why Dundee Utd chose not to pursue their interest in the player earlier this summer. This could also certainly put off any Birmingham advances.
The young lad certainly has talent and is keen to get his first team career underway after impressing in all competitions last season including the UEFA youth league.
