ALBIAN AJETI has fired back at former treble Celt Ramon Vega.

Earlier this week, Ramon questioned why Albian had been recalled to the Switzerland side and claimed if it was because of his run in the team with Celtic – he didn’t believe Albian had shown enough to be given that call.

The Celtic striker has hit back by claiming not to know Ramon Vega and also revealed he’s big enough to deal with the criticism that comes his way.

Speaking to Swiss publication Blick the Celtic forward said “Ramon Vega? Who is that? That is his opinion, but he doesn’t make the lineup, so I’m less interested.

“We have to deal with criticism. This is football. That’s part of it. I can live with it. Of course, things can always go better, but I fight and do my best.”

Albian has enjoyed a run in the team through injury but he didn’t really inspire confidence in front of goal. His last two SPFL starts saw Celtic get just one point out of six.

The player did get some game time against Aberdeen – coming off the bench in the second half. It’s down to the manager believing Gorgios Giakoumakis is still not fit enough to start.

It will be interesting to see if Albian is utilised by his international side or if he’ll just be around the squad without getting game time.

  1. Ajeti is hopeless and how is called up for Switzerland I do not know. Looks like the papers are beginning the ‘Ange out’ process now. But John Terry? Good God. It was always going to come to this especially with the terrible start he has made. But how long will he get?
