It’s a tale of one former Celt and one potential future Celt at Sunderland this week. According to the Sunderland Echo, Aiden McGeady is set to sign on for another year at the Stadium of Light but their top striker Charlie Wyke is still tipped to move to Parkhead.

Wyke scored more than 30 goals for his team last season during the final year of his contract. The player looks likely to cash-in on that form and earn a better deal elsewhere.

Celtic have been the only club credited with a major interest in the frontman to this point.

We’ve been told by reliable sources Ange Postecoglou is already hard at work during his self-isolation process and having conversations with scouts and decision makers at the club over potential signings.

We confirmed this week Erik Sviatchenko has been sounded out by Celtic but a deal for the defender is at an early stage.

Celtic need at least five or six players before the start of the season – will Wyke be one of them?
