CELTIC STRIKER Nadir Ciftci has been told by the club that he can look elsewhere in his quest for first team football after Brendan Rodgers told the Turkish forward he was surplus to requirements.

Signed by Ronny Deila from Dundee Utd the striker has never really got going in a Celtic jersey and looked out of place on the rare outings he did get.

Many fans at the time were surprised when we signed the big man and they’ll still be in a state of bemusement two years on.

Nadir spent time out on-loan to Eskişehirspor and Pogoń Szczecin last season when the Brendan Rodgers revolution was kicking into high gear.

He remains a Celtic player for now but if Celtic get the opportunity to offload him they surely will.
