CELTIC are heading back to Scotland next week to begin their preparation for the Partick Thistle game next Saturday where the bhoys will start the defence of their Scottish Cup.

The trip to Firhill will be Celtic’s first match of 2020 and will present a chance for the bhoys to get back to winning ways after that disappointing defeat at the end of last year.

We already know Hatem Elhamed has suffered a setback in his comeback from injury – the defender not been seen since the Lazio game. However, it has emerged Celtic duo Tom Rogic and Mikey Johnston both won’t be fit for Celtic’s game against Thistle next weekend.

This is a blow because Ryan Christie is already out and Tom would be expected to fill in the position.

SunSport writes: “Jeremie Frimpong has starred at right-back but Lennon has been eager to get experienced Elhamed back into the team. Tom Rogic is also near a return to training but Mikey Johnston is still a fortnight away with a thigh strain.”

There seems to be an outside chance Tom Rogic could make the Scottish Cup tie but no such luck for Mikey Johnston who is having a nightmare on the injury front this term.
