It was in the second half when Ryan Christie pulled up against Motherwell and couldn’t play any further part in proceedings. It was actually Celtic kicking the ball out of play so he could receive treatment which gave Motherwell the opportunity to flout good sportsmanship by catching Celtic off guard and attacking Celtic when they should have passed the ball back.

Christie went up the tunnel after the sub and looked in extreme discomfort, it as clear to see it was a hamstring issue and according to reports today, the player will now at least miss the trip to Tynecastle but could be out for a number of weeks.

Celtic still have a long injury list and Christie joining it would be another blow for the bhoys who still have Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic out of action.

Scott Brown will be fit and available to come back into the side against Hearts after serving his suspension.

Ryan’s performance against Hearts at Murrayfield in the League Cup was the catalyst for his new Celtic deal and run in the team so it’s disappointing.
