CELTIC managed a 1-0 win at Hamilton this afternoon in a game you can file under ‘bleh’.

The Hoops got off to a brilliant start with new bhoy Mohamed Elyounoussi landing an assist three minutes into his debut. Despite the magnificent start that would be the only goal of the game for the bhoys and the day was made much harder than it needed to be.

The story off the pitch for many Celtic fans abroad was CELTICTV and the issues it had trying to provide the game for supporters around the world. If you’re outside the UK and Ireland you are at the mercy of CelticTV if you want to watch the bhoys in green do their thing. While the media channel has made some strides it appears there are still many issues plaguing the subscription based site.

There was an issue in the first half with subscribers being able to watch the game. Before the second half, CelticTV moved to their backup player and told subscribers to sign in and out to get the game going again.

Paying supporters were likely not impressed. The initial reaction for some will be to shoot down the moaners but this is a wildly underfunded part of the club and it’s a direct service from Celtic to the supporters. The club brags about having a worldwide support but in truth, even when the feeds are working – it’s pretty amateurish for a club the size of Celtic.

There’s no excuse in this day and age for having these sorts of problems. The club should be in a position to welcome existing and new fans into the service and give them a real experience. Right now, it’s just not good enough. This isn’t a slight on the multimedia team at the club who clearly try and work hard to deliver the best possible experience. It’s time they were backed so we don’t have angry supporters missing any part of a Celtic game.
