CELTIC have been in-talks with Bolton’s administrators about a potential deal for Luca Connell it has emerged.

Connell, 18, can leave Bolton this summer for next to nothing with a small FIFA imposed fee the only thing standing in the player’s way if he moves outside England.

However, the club has taken the unusual step and not gone straight to the player and his representatives. Instead, the Scottish champions have opted to open a dialogue with the troubled club’s administrators in a bid to get a deal done for young Luca according to SunSport.

Neil Lennon once managed the ill-fated club after his first stint at Celtic came to an end and is looking to raid his old side.

Luca has never signed a professional deal with Bolton and if Celtic do manage to land the player then it would be his first senior deal in football.

The English club value the player highly but their hands will be tied in what they can get for the defender.
