Celtic were given a boost in their ‘pursuit’ of Chelsea defender and current Bristol City loanee Tomas Kalas when it was revealed City don’t have a first option on the player come the summer.

However, if the Celtic scouts were watching him against England they may have second thoughts about wanting to bring the defender in this summer.

The defender lined up for his country Czech Republic against England at Wembley on Friday night and he along with his team-mates had an absolute nightmare but it would be the bizarre own goal by Kalas which would be a major talking point coming out of the tie.

It appeared the defender was set to clear but instead rolled it into the net for England.

Kalas has proven to be a top star in the Championship but looked out his depth playing for his country on Friday. One bad game does not make a bad player and he will now look to pick himself up after a bad mistake.

  1. Defenders scoring Og’s against Celtic is nothing new. As Celtic defenders and midfielders used to do that quite a lot. Martin O’Neil, Gordy Strapon and One Neil Lennon can testify to that. Mostly in Europe though. Home and away
