REPORTED Celtic target Abel Hernandez is apparently in advanced talks with Leeds over a move to Elland Road.

The striker cut ties with Hull City at the end of May when he rejected a new deal with the club making him a free agent.

Reports from north and south of the border claim Celtic were keeping tabs on the player’s situation but no formal play for the frontman has ever been made.

With Celtic likely to sign Osdonne Edouard in the next week or two, there are already three players fighting for the one position at Celtic.

Unless Celtic know they are going to part company with either Griffiths or Dembele this summer then Rodgers won’t see signing a striker as a huge priority.

Brendan Rodgers has been clearing out his squad with Erik Sviatchenko and Nadir Ciftci leaving already this summer. Youth players Sam Wardrop and Jamie Lindsay have also departed on a permanent basis.

With the players set to return to training in the middle of June for an early Champions League start – Celtic will need to juggle pre-season, qualifiers and trying to freshen up their squad.
