CELTIC have been linked with a move for Le Havre centre back Harold Moukoudi before the transfer window closes. However, if they have any firm intentions of signing the player it looks like they may need to act quickly.

According to SunSport, that defender has missed a French League Cup game in order to personally fly into Britain by Aston Villa ahead of a move to the Championship side.

Steve Bruce has been an admirer of the player for some time and even though the transfer window is closed in England, clubs can still make loan moves until the usual deadline tomorrow night.

This means the club are currently thrashing out a loan deal with an option to buy when the January window opens.

Brendan Rodgers was asked about Moukoudi at the weekend and the manager said he was aware of the player but wouldn’t go into further detail if the club intended to move for the 21-year-old.

With Villa willing to pay £10million for the Ligue 2 centre back – it could be too rich for Celtic’s blood.
