CELTIC have been linked with a move for Abel Hernadez for quite some time now, reportedly monitoring the attacker’s contract situation.

After protracted negotiations with Hull, the Uruguayan has decided to leave the club after failing to come to terms on a new deal.

The free agent released this statement after leaving the club.

“I will never forget the matches in which you singed my name, this is something that I will have forever in my heart.

“This is why you deserve to know, directly from me, that my time in Hull is now over, everything comes to an end and today I have to say goodbye.

“Sometimes a fair agreement is not reached, and football is like that. I wish you all the best for the next year.”

The 27-year-old is highly sought after, especially now there’s no large fee involved in his capture and with that in mind Celtic along with several English clubs are now weighing up their options.
