STOKE CITY are tonight testing the resolve of Aberdeen by slapping in a reported £5million bid in for their star defender and longtime Celtic target Scott McKenna.

McKenna was subject of two failed bids from Celtic in the summer with Aberdeen throwing both offers out as well as rejected a large offer from Aston Villa.

Since then, it’s all gone quiet on the McKenna front, especially since the player picked up an injury recently. However, tonight have seemingly come from nowhere to make the bid for the Scottish international according to MailSport.

Celtic may be short of a defender or two if Boyata and Benkovic continue to be out injured for a prolonged period of time. With Jack Hendry set to go out on-loan it was thought Celtic are now assessing their options with regards to a central defender in this window.

There’s surely no way Celtic would match or even better the reported offer from Stoke.

  1. Give the sheep Jonny Hayes, a loan of their choice and Two millions. And see if that can test their resolve. Otherwise let him go anywhere else for a undisclosed sum.
