Celtic take on Motherwell this afternoon at Fir Park, with Brendan Rodgers’ side looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership table. The Hoops currently sit ten points clear of Rangers, with a game in hand that could stretch the gap to thirteen.

The big headline from the starting XI is the inclusion of Jota on the bench, as the Portuguese winger prepares for his third Celtic debut following his return from Rennes. Up front, Adam Idah gets the nod as the central striker, flanked by Nicolas Kühn and Daizen Maeda.

In midfield, captain Callum McGregor will make his 500th appearance for the club, joining an elite group of Hoops legends. He is partnered in the centre of the park by Luke McCowan, who is tsarting to rack up appearanes for the bhoys, and Reo Hatate.

At the back, Anthony Ralston comes in for a rare start at right-back, while Cameron Carter-Vickers returns to the XI after injury. Auston Trusty partners him at centre-half, with Greg Taylor continuing at left-back.

Motherwell are in turmoil following the resignation of manager Stuart Kettlewell earlier this week. The former boss stepped down, citing abuse directed at himself and his family from a small section of Well fans.

Kick-off is at 3pm, with Celtic aiming to maintain momentum and take another step towards the title.
