How much did we learn today about Brendan Rodgers starting 11 for the Glasgow Derby? You get the feeling some players were getting a rest for Saturday while others were answering some questions.

It would be a surprise if Rodgers does not play the same team that faced Aberdeen last Saturday, that is with the exception of Johnny Hayes of course. That means Ajer starts at the back with Boyata. Armstrong, Brown, and Ntcham will boss the midfield. Forrest and Sinclair will bomb the wings.

The big call will be with the lone striker. Its hard to see Rodgers not going with Dembele. Alan Stubbs said today he thought Griffiths was the most all-round striker at Celtic. We think the Celtic manager would say Dembele is. Dembele’s record in Glasgow derbies is also worth considering. The Dembele/Griffiths question has been going on the last few months and opinion seems split. Mainly because of the excellent contribution both players have made to the Hoops.

So the team we predict for Saturday is below. You can leave your own opinions below and come back Saturday morning to follow up.

  1. Ntcham has got to face the HunDeid,Armstrong should be on the bench.McGregor is good for a goal,Just my opinion.Got to put that Rancid Fake pretendy pretendy Club realistically in its place,Again…If Kilmarnock can beat them,Then we can Obliterate Them.HH

  2. I hope Armstrong has a good game, its hot and cold with him just now, a few good passes from Ntcham to whosever up front should see us put the huns to the sword. HH

  3. The team detailed above is probably the strongest starting XI (who’d have though Griffiths would be 2nd choice striker).

I like both McGregor and Armstrong, but I’ll go along with the BR selection as I’m sure we all agree that however well we think we can second guess a team selection the ultimate choice lies with the Manager.

Kudos for Griffiths attitude, he’s a big part of a strong squad and a successful team and always gives 100%.
