Celtic need to get back to winning ways today with a victory over Partick Thistle in the Betfred Cup. With the amount of negativity surrounding the club in the last week or so it’s funny to mention words like “Treble Treble”. It might be a long way off, but if Celtic are to record another treble season, it starts today.
Even with what is on the line in terms of trophies, it was expected that Brendan Rodgers would make some changes today as he did against Hearts. Celtic face a trip to Lithuania on Thursday to face Suduva in the Europa qualifiers.
The Celtic gaffer has probably surprised a few fans this morning giving a few players their first competitive starts of the new season. As we reported earlier, Emilio Izaguirre is probably the big surprise as the Honduran just re-signed to the Celts.
There is more than enough in this Celtic team to blow Partick away, kick off at 12:30.
