It has been quite the week for young Celtic midfielder Francis Turley.
The teenager has been training with the first team recently and came on for the last half-hour of Wednesday’s thrilling 6-4 win over Queen’s Park.
It was an impressive cameo from Turley, who managed to get himself on the scoresheet with a tidy finish from 12 yards out. Brendan Rodgers hailed him as ‘wonderful’ post-match.

Now, after making a dream debut for Celtic, Turley has been called up to represent Northern Ireland at the under-19 European Championships next week.
Gareth McAuley’s squad for the tournament, which also includes Neil Lennon’s son, Gallagher, was announced last night:

Northern Ireland are hosting the tournament and are in Group A. They take on Ukraine next Monday, Italy on Thursday, and Norway on Sunday.
McAuley aims to get his side out of the group and into the semi-finals. Turley will be hoping he can impress as they seek to do so.
