CELTIC have major issues throughout the squad that need to be addressed as soon as a new manager comes into the club.

One of the most urgent positions to fill is the goalkeeping position.

Celtic have been playing with no clear number one this season and with all due respect to Scott Bain, he’s not a Celtic number one.

There has to be difficult conversations when the new boss comes in and recognition of what happened this season hasn’t worked.

Good goalkeepers are hard to find but BBC pundit Tam McManus believes Celtic have one under their nose.

Israeli international goalkeeper Ofir Marciano is leaving Hibernian on a free after the Easter Road side tried to tie him down to a new deal.

Marciano has done very well for Hibernian over the pieces and McManus believes if Celtic are looking for a reliable goalkeeper who doesn’t make man mistakes then Marciano could be a steal.

Barkas was brought in for big money but if a new boss doesn’t;t fancy him the likelihood of the greek international going out on loan to try and raise his stock elsewhere will be a no-brainer.

If Barkas isn’t the man, Bain and Hazard should be fighting it out for the number two spot. Whoever is going to be Celtic’s number one next season is likely not at the club right now.

Some fans turn their nose up at signings from other SPFL clubs but we must always look at each individual signing on merit.

  1. Can’t fault the idea of Marciano being at the club. He’s had another good season. But there’s 2 questions marks.
First is just the big club change. His rhythm will be different at Celtic, and if (hopefully) we can keep the ball better, then he’ll need to adjust playing in games where he has nothing to do before springing to action. I’m sure he’d cope.
Second. Will he get better offers down South. Can we/will we entice him with a decent offer? Or will we cheap out?
Lastly. Is he really the best keeper we can find..?? Where’s the scouts? (On YouTube like everyone else!!)
