Celtic eased past Raith Rovers tonight in this season’s League Cup at Paradise with a 3-0 win.

James McCarthy had A few wayward passes tonight before eventually finding a splitting assist in the 25th minute for Jota.  The Portuguese winger will get all the praise for notching his first Celtic goal but hopefully, McCarthy gets a much-needed confidence booster for his part.

Liel Abada made it 2-0 to the Celtic as Jota was causing all kinds of problems for the Raith defenders and his saved effort was headed home by Abada. The tie was dead and buried when David Turnbull got in on the act with a cracking trademark curler to make it 3-0 for the Bhoys.
Celtic can now face either Hibs, Rangers or St Johnstone next to go chasing that first trophy of the season and the first trophy for a lot of the Celtic new recruits.
All eyes are now on the semi-final draw and with the four teams out Celtic will play St. Johnstone.

  1. St Jonnie are just Livie, who play in blue shirts. If Celtic play with speed and determination, they can waylay their six big guys at the back, and 10 men in front of their goalie each time Celtic mount an attack. So get after them and kick them out. And kick them even harder back. And watch them roll around at the officials feet.
